What We DoMaterials

What We Do

Flex-Pak offers Custom-Made Pouches, Back Seam Bags, Flexographic Printing, and Plain & Printed Rollstock. Additional products and services offered include fitment installation, toll printing and pouching, unique manual operations, and custom package design assistance.

A basic pouch consists of two layers of material heat sealed together to make a three side seal (3SS) package. They are also called pillow pouches. A seal, ranging from 1/4″ to 1/2″, is produced by heat to weld the edges together. There are many features that can be added to a basic pouch.

Back Seam Bags

A package that is made with a heat sealed seam in the center of the back side is a bag. Snack foods are often packaged in bags. Hang holes are often punched into the top seal to present products in a retail setting.

Flexographic Printing

Most of the films and laminates we use for barrier packaging can be printed before we form it into a finished pouch or bag. Flexographic printing, up to 8 colors, allows for significant creativity for presentation of your finished package.

If you have your own form/fill/seal packaging equipment, we can furnish barrier material in roll form. Plain or printed rolls are prepared at the width and roll diameter that is required to fit your machinery.

Foil Laminates

A foil layer provides the best possible barrier. Nylon, Polyester or Paper are common surface layers.

Medical grade Tyvek® is used for peelable chevron pouches for medical or laboratory settings.

Polypropylene is a high clarity barrier that works well for retail settings, allowing the consumer to easily see product.

Polyester & Metalized Laminates

Polyester offers a very good barrier, and metalized Polyester is used for even better protection, when the highest level foil barrier is not required.
